History of KitchenAid

The idea behind an electric hand mixer was conceived by engineer Herbert Johnson in 1908. It took 6 years to verify designs and start production and another 5 years until the first blender was released.

Dubbed the H-5, the stand mixer was inspired by a baker who mixes dough with a metal spoon and was dubbed "the ultimate kitchen gadget" by an executive's wife.

KitchenAid introduced refrigerators and dishwashers in the 1940s and 1950s, then expanded in 1993 to include the appliances that the brand typically manufactures today (eg, blenders and food processors).

Why KitchenAid Stand Mixers Are Expensive

KitchenAid stand mixers manufactured today are a combination of excellent workmanship, quality materials and a strong brand that commands a high price.

Support mixes typically cost between $100 and $400, and KitchenAid is consistently at the top of that average.

KitchenAid stand mixers in particular are known for having the power, versatility and capacity that allow bakers, chefs and cooks around the world to prepare a variety of foods that are simply impossible with other stand mixers.

Everyone you talk to about KitchenAid will no doubt rave about it. Given its history, this is something that shouldn't be taken lightly. Consistent positive word of mouth is a type of advertising that can't be bought that really validates how good these machines really are.

I know when I was looking at a stand mixer there was only one brand I wanted to buy and that is KitchenAid.

This is a combination of the brand of stand mixer my grandmother used and the brand I learned to use during school (there's probably more that went into unconscious decision making, but you get the idea).

What does KitchenAid have that other brands don't?

KitchenAid appliances are extremely expensive, but they are worth it if you cook a lot and use a variety of cooking techniques. KitchenAid prides itself on being versatile in the kitchen, while you might be thinking how they can be as versatile as just mixing things up, you're wrong.

Yes, the stand mixer just mixes things up, but you can find different attachments that you can use on the stand mixer to create different techniques, beaters, and even one to knead your dough.

This makes the KitchenAid stand mixer much more appealing to a diverse customer base as it does more than just mix ingredients.

KitchenAids are the perfect gadget for anyone looking for a versatile backdrop. The biggest benefit of owning a KitchenAid is that it comes with so much, but also the ability to add more accessories and add-ons to make your cooking days easier.

KitchenAid can have different adapters that can do everything from squeezing, kneading to spiralizing. You could even say they have an adapter for everything. This can add ten times the value of a KitchenAid stand mixer, eliminating the need for other devices that perform these same techniques.

The KitchenAid stand mixer is well built and is actually very heavy to ensure it can handle high mixing settings and more.

Some other brand blenders aren't made either, and while they work just as well at first, they're unfortunately not made to last. This, in turn, can do. the most expensive device.

Are KitchenAid stand mixers worth the money?

We know that KitchenAid stand mixers are more expensive than most other stand mixer brands. In fact, at the time of writing, a 4.5-liter Classic model is on sale for $219.99, while a 4-quart Hamilton Beach blender is just $89.99, so the price difference is justified. .

Personally, I believe the decision was due to the following factors;

  • Availability (various sizes and colors)
  • product quality
  • Achievement / Skills
  • functions
  • accessories
  • draft
  • reliability
  • Guarantee

Of course, not all of these valuable qualities are created equal. Some people value a variety of colors and sizes more than customer service and product design, which is why we cover each of these topics separately.

KitchenAid's flagship product is the stand mixer. So it's not surprising that it offers the best range of colors and sizes of any food processor manufacturer.

product quality

You'll find that KitchenAid stand mixers consistently receive more than 4.5 stars on Amazon, on average.

Unfortunately, this is not always the case with other brands of stand mixers. However, some seem to get better reviews than others.

Achievement / Skills

Because of KitchenAid's variety of models, you can find a stand mixer with the power and capacity you need.

If we take the 5 liter Artisan model as an example, this blender offers enough power and capacity to cook 4 loaves of bread at once thanks to 60 Hz. 325 watts of power.

That's something that can only be matched by the higher-end models from other stand mixer brands, which often cost upwards of $250 (about $100 less than the KitchenAid Artisan model).

A host of functions and configurations make you versatile in the kitchen. Most mixer brands only focus on one specific feature and that is speed capability.

Most brands of stand mixers had between 6 and 8 different speed settings, depending on the model. Every KitchenAid model I reviewed had 10.

Suporte KitchenAidBlenders come with three accessories; a flat bat, a whip and a hook🇧🇷 Most other mixer brands also offer the same accessories when you buy the machine.

However, what really sets KitchenAid apart from other brands of food processors are the additional accessories that can be purchased and easily attached to the food processor. These include; Meat grinder, spiralizer, colander, rolling pin and a sevie.

No other blender brand offers the same number of branded and third-party accessories in comparison.

KitchenAid's design is patented and has won numerous awards over the past 100 years. OnlySMEGapproximates the design and finish of the KitchenAid product.

A 2019 CNet research report found KitchenAid to be the third most trusted appliance brand (but this was based on a range of products and did not specifically include stand mixers).

There are reports with 706 KitchenAid reviews and an average score of 1.6. Hamilton Beach has 177 reviews with an average score of 1.8 and Kenmore has 184 reviews with an average score of 1.5

KitchenAid offers a five-year warranty on its stand mixer products.

Meanwhile, Hamilton Beach offers a one-year warranty, and while Crusinart does offer a lifetime warranty, it's something that most consumers have failed to take advantage of due to various mistakes made by the company's customer service department.

I tried to be as balanced as possible while looking for mixers that could live up to KitchenAid's quality and reputation, but you'll agree that this is incredibly difficult to achieve.

KitchenAid Mixer Alternatives

Here are some KitchenAid stand mixer alternatives you might want to consider. While the best certainly seems to be in the higher price range, I've tried to offer something for every budget.

Aucma mixer 6.5 quarts 660 W

Similar to most Amazon reviews, MakeBreadAtHome agrees that this is an affordable stand mixer that packs a real punch.

In the 6.5 liter size, it is available in three colors; black, blue and silver. Although additional colors are available if you switch to a slightly less powerful model with a smaller capacity.
