Conclusion
Areias Village Hotel-Apartamento is a three-pearl aparthotel that's about a five-minute walk from the bars of Avenida Sa Carneiro and the beach. Features are somewhat limited here, with just an outdoor pool and a kids' pool, and no fitness center or kids' club. To its credit, everything is pleasantly modern, which is not always the case in serviced apartments in the Albufeira area. Each apartment is spacious and includes a kitchen, living room, and balcony (some overlooking the pool). Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel, but it's worth noting that a nearby nightclub means some rooms are noisy. There is also a Portuguese restaurant bar on site. Alternatively, the nearby Luna Clube Oceano is comparable in price and quality, but a bit closer to the beach.

Areias Village Hotel Apartment

Modern and neat apart-hotel, with a discreet atmosphere and a quieter atmosphere.
The Areias Village Hotel-Apartamento is one of the most modern hotels we've seen in the Albufeira area, and it's set in well-kept grounds, with a stone walkway meandering through lawns, trees, and hedges. Guests enter a contemporary, high-ceilinged lobby, and interiors here are a bit more imaginative and colorful than at competing properties. The bar features black pod chairs and vinyl furniture, and the rooms feature plum and purple motifs. At the center of the property is a large outdoor pool and a kids' pool that serves as the hotel's social hub. It's worth noting that even though the hotel is close to Avenida Sá Carneiro, the atmosphere is quiet (with the exception of occasional noises from a nearby nightclub in some rooms). In fact, some may find the atmosphere a bit boring, as the hotel offers little music or entertainment. Mature couples and families are the most frequent guests, drawn by its spacious apartments and near-beach location, though the lack of a kids' club may be a bummer for some parents.

Location
A five-minute walk from the bars on Avenida Sá Carneiro or Praia dos Aveiros
Areias Village Hotel is surrounded by similar hotels and condominiums and is a five-minute walk from Sa Carneiro Avenue, lined with shops, restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. This is also a convenient spot for bathers: Praia dos Aveiros is just over a five-minute walk away; Praia da Oura is a three-minute drive or 10-minute walk away; and Alemaes Beach is a five-minute drive or 15-minute walk from the hotel. Albufeira's old town is less than 10 minutes' drive from the hotel. A tourist train also goes to the old town, and there is a stop on Avenida Sá Carneiro. Zoomarine Algarve shows marine life and jumping dolphins, is a 25 minute drive away. Albufeira Train Station is just over 10 minutes away by car, and Faro Airport is about a 35-minute drive from the hotel. Expect a two and a half hour drive to the Lisbon airport.

Spacious, well-maintained apartments with kitchens and balconies.
The spacious studios and one-bedrooms here have a fairly basic appearance, but the contemporary look sets them apart from much of the competition in this category in the city. Colors like plum and purple liven up the look, while dark wood furnishings, light wood accents, and white tile floors create a fresh, modern effect. There is a nightclub attached to the hotel, so rooms on that side of the building may have some noise issues; check with the hotel in advance. The 63 units have kitchens with sinks, four-burner stoves, microwaves, toasters, and mid-size refrigerators. Appliances, cookware, and dinnerware are in good condition and up-to-date, though there are no ovens, dishwashers, or coffeemakers. Each unit also has free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, and a private balcony (some with pool views). Bathrooms are spacious and stylish with square sinks and stainless steel fixtures. All come with hairdryers, bidets, rainfall showerheads, and shower/tub combinations. The rooms and public areas of the Areias Village are non-smoking.

Characteristics
Outdoor pool with poolside bar, kids' pool, Portuguese restaurant, and cocktail bar
Areias Village Hotel-Apartment has a limited range of features, though there are enough to keep guests satisfied while on-site. The outdoor pool is about 20 meters long and the terrace gets good sun. There are occasionally problems with sun loungers, all of which are taken early in the day. There is also a small children's pool next to the main pool. A poolside bar serves drinks and light meals. The hotel lacks a full kids' club, but there is a colorful indoor game room. The breakfast buffet (for a fee) has a decent variety of hot and cold items. The restaurant also serves Portuguese dishes for lunch and dinner and receives good reviews from past guests. The adjacent cocktail bar overlooks the pool. There are complaints of the high prices of drinks and food, especially at the poolside bar; places outside the hotel will have lower prices, of course. Areias Village also has a business center/library and free parking. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
